  • you want a strategic focus for developing yourself as a leader
  • you yearn for a powerful network of like-minded women

How does the Art of Seamanship contribute to Executive Excellence?

The nature of the sea teaches us the fundamental leadership lessons of AWARENESS, AUTHENTICITY and ALIGNMENT.

Being on the water demands sea sense which is a constant AWARENESS of ever changing elements-wind direction and speed, tidal currents, navigational hazards and the physical and emotional state of yourself and your crew.

Assuming command of a vessel necessitates a command presence which is an authority based on credibility. Is there AUTHENTICITY? Do you walk your talk? Are the interests of the vessel and crew first and foremost in your mind?

Safe passage requires that all parts of a vessel work in concert from well-trimmed sails to steady helmsmanship to clear and consistent communication. A captain creates ALIGNMENT through developing and articulating a voyage plan, establishing performance expectations, holding the crew accountable to those standards and safeguarding the crew’s welfare.
