How does the Art of Natural Horsemanship contribute to Executive Excellence?
The principles of Natural Horsemanship teach us fundamental leadership lessons in AWARENESS, AUTHENTICITY and ALIGNMENT.
Horses are masters of AWARENESS. They help in teaching us to be alert and respond with confidence to our surroundings, enabling us to maintain direction, trust and integrity of our team. We can expect a heightened sense of self, purpose and flexibility in how we respond in our lives.
In the herd the lead mare directs her group as a conductor would direct a symphony. Her movements have purpose and give direction. Lingering doubts in her abilities do not exist because horses are not capable of questioning and performing outside of their intuitions. Their language is AUTHENTIC, with no ability to construct hidden agendas. The horse’s response to our verbal and physical language is directly related to the authenticity of our intentions and behaviors: a mirror to the truth we hold within.
Communicating with purpose and clarity inspires the trust of others. Matching our actions to our interior picture brings integrity to our words. ALIGNMENT is then achieved and the honesty of our intentions are understood. Horses follow honest leaders. Their reaction to our efforts at kinship and trust encourages our own alignment. Solutions for our leadership challenges begin to unfold.
